دربررسی جدید، محققان دانشگاه میشیگان 231 بیمار مبتلا به نوروپاتی دردناك پس از دریافت داروی شیمی درمانی oxaliplatin یا paclitaxel را بررسی كردند. محققان به طور تصادفی به مدت پنج هفته به بیماران داروی دولوكستین دادند. از بیماران خواسته شد میزان درد را به طور هفتگی گزارش كنند.

محققان دریافتند 59 درصد بیماران كه دولوكستین خورده بودند، كاهش درد را گزارش كردند. اثر این دارو در همه بیماران یكسان نبود ولی در اكثر بیماران این دارو موثر بود.
